Stitch Swap 1 Sample 3 - Making a "braid-like" trim

(Sample by Ginny Carlson)
When you are looking for trimming on a yoke or jacket, make your own - it is simple - somewhat slow, but easy to do. In the sample there is one peice of green ribbon floss, one blue ribbon floss, and a strand of gold metallic thread.

Fold the threads in half.
Put your needle in the fabric and place the threads behind the needle (so the half-way mark is directly behind the needle)
Criss-cross the threads in front of the needle.
With the needle in the down position, take one stitch (SL 6).
With the needle still down, criss-cross the threads in front of the needle.
Take another stitch.
Criss-cross the threads again.
Repeat until desired length is reached.
The ends of the ribbon can be free or loose, or thread them onto a needle and bring them in back of the fabric when finished.

Stitch Swap 1- Sample 4 - Polar Fleece Edging/Hem
(Sample by Michelle Berteig)
This can be used as a hem instead of turning up the fabric. It is an ideal way to hem if the garmet is too short!

Using the Viking 1+
Stitch A22, SL 3.0, SW 5.0, B foot
The B foot has three marks on it. The raw edges of the fabric was lined up with the mark on the far right-hand side, then just stitch away!

If you use the same colour thread the stitching is not noticeable!
