Contest Entry
4th of July T-shirt from Linda
Rickerson
Well, here they are. I've sent 3 pictures.
One is of the design on a shirt; another is a closeup of the design itself
and the 3rd is of the corner of the design. What I did was use designs from
Sew Teri-fic. I used the USA outline from her freebies. I cut the stars out
of her Scruffy 4th design and used the Customizer for the lettering. For the
border, I just put both the red and blue thread through the needle together.
I used my D1 for the embroidery and my 1+ for the border. Love them two machines!
Over all, I used Customizing, CD Editor and Stitch Editor Pro. I learned so
much from doing this design and using all these programs. I eliminated color
stops with Stitch Ed.; cut the stars with the CD Editor and of course a LOT
of time in the Customizer. I used Customizing for the lettering , changing
colors and setting up the design. I was trying to get the design to sew out
in a particular order and remember hearing somewhere that parts of a design
sew out in the order that you bring them into Customizing. After 3 tries,
I was finally satisfied.
I basically did the sew out so that I could "stick" it to a shirt so that
it could be removed. I may use those little Velcro circles to attach it and
then make up other designs to attach to the shirt at appropriate times of
the year. That way you aren't stuck with a bunch of shirts that you can only
wear one time of the year. Hey, that sounds like a good idea! Sell shirts
or sweatshirts with interchangeable embroideries! I'm not sure if I should
have you keep that little gem to yourself; could open up a whole new market!
At this point in my business, I could use ANY market! VBG! Anyway, thanks
loads for doing this; really gets one thinking!
Take care, Linda Rickerson
